A Visual Slice of Summer {Part 1}
Summer is officially creeping past the halfway mark around here, and I’m grateful (and exhausted) for all we’ve been able to do so far, so I thought I’d share our summer via photographs.
We started off with cousin fun at Acadia National Park visiting Cadillac Mountain and Sandy Beach…
Shortly after, we left the coast for the lakes – Lobster Lake specifically, where we paddled all our gear into a campsite for two days. I was quite skeptical, but it proved to be a dream spot for the boys (young and old). Our lakeside tent site let us feel entirely alone – we could even let the boys be loud first thing in the morning. We made forts, explored, had campfires, fished, paddled. We also had soapy coffee, so it wasn’t all bliss, but it was beautiful.
During the scorching week of summer, we tented at Living Waters. It was another great visit to the place that started our family. We always love watching our kids play on the waterfront where we got married.
We finally had some time at home, so we joined forces with some friends to have a lemonade stand for their cousin, Amelie, who has Ewing’s Sarcoma. This little clan raised $300!! If you’d like to help them raise even more, you can donate here.
This year, we had Bronson’s birthday at our family’s camp. I think he liked it!
We spent the week there – playing in the river, kayaking on the pond, fishing, visiting Kineo and more. We always love continuing to raise the boys with a love of camp. The boys said, “we like camp a little more than home.” I think you can see why…
As always, don’t forget what isn’t pictured here. Like most people, much of our summer has been filled with the boys’ fighting, arguing, whining, etc. I just don’t bother to capture it because it’s much more enjoyable to try to remember all the good stuff.
